Australians, please raid your Uncle's old PC in his shed, and help me find a copy of this to archive.

One of the perks of working on Precursor. When I get annoyed with something, I can just blow stuff up Gta style.
AI just suggested I remove the LAN interface assignment from the physical ethernet device to further configure VLANs on that port.
Heck no. The management interface of the router is running on the LAN interface. If I remove it, there will be no further configuration...
OK, I'll be posting this every now and again, sporadically, for a short time ...
My wife ( @virtuosew ) has just had her book published. The material in it has been gestating for over 25 years, and she's really, *really* happy with how it has turned out.
Please ... ask us any questions!
We are still working on the "home" website, but you can see something about it here:

I am ridiculously proud of her ...
When I keep saying that being on #streaming platforms is a pointless exercise, I get sometimes asked for numbers, or proofs.
Here you go. A single song of mine was played a MILLION times in 3 months, in 2022 (and, in later months, another 750k times), with a net gain of £33.
A million plays on streaming pays for a pizza night out for me and @silviamaggi
Took me FOUR sales on Bandcamp to reach the same amount.
So, ask me again, why quit giving out music to the techbros?
New blog post! In which:
Hmm. Because I really don't want to lose access to them, I'm downloading all episodes from a favorite anime off of a pirate site, because this is easier than making backups from the DVDs that I own for it. 🤷♂️
I think this means something. 🤔
And I'm not sure it's a good thing.
Another small victory today.
A salesperson had almost convinced a client to move their email from 365 to Google because "they hold all the cards now". I stepped in and suggested they keep their email on servers that they control instead. The salesperson almost mocked me, treating me like a "nerd" who doesn't understand how the world works.
I was happy to be a nerd, if necessary, to explain the pros and cons of the solution to the client.
The result? The salesperson was politely thanked and "sent home", and I'm now evaluating some details of the new mail server, which, by the client's choice, will be based on OpenBSD.
Because people need explanations, not brochures.
Just a CEO of a hot new social media platform calling its users freeloaders and telling them to stop posting, hm.

Running 14.3-STABLE right now. Intel iwlwifi driver with an Intel AX210 card giving me full 250/40 Mbps (the maximum of my DSL line) via WiFi :)
Random connection issues, that I had with -RELEASE are solved in the current -STABLE 🙂
5Ghz, 802.11ac with 80Mhz wide channel...
We're making fast progress with FreeBSD on the modern desktop 🙂
