Back after giving myself a month away from Fedi.
I'll attempt to curate my experience much more, starting with this account and instance.
I want comfy things in my life - I don't need to be adding stress and angst from my online interactions. We can do better. We should do better. Including myself.
My interests cover #tech, #photography, #biking, #motorsport, #fountainpen, and other things I will no doubt need to add here when I remember.
I touch computers in my spare time and self host things. Oh yeah so #selfhosting I guess.
In my other spare time I renovate my house and do #DIY stuff.
Oh and I (used to?) play music. #Guitar I still have and sometimes play, #Saxophone I used to have a couple of decades ago, I had 6 months of Drum lessons, and played Bass for our school band in Rockquest in the late 90's.
I have never done anything that cool since.
Oh I live in New Zealand, Aotearoa.

SF_Photographer@pixelfed.socialBut my instinct was right. A late afternoon low haze we've had for the last few days while the sun was setting and a telephoto made for some nice photos.
All three were taken about the same time looking WNW past Alcatraz to Marin County during the golden hour. I did not change or subdue the color, but did use a filter.

Instead of using butter with your garlic bread, you should switch to Linux. You can set up a virtual machine to try out various distros to see which one works best for your needs.

Lighting conditions vary. Most of your screens likely arenât color-managed or adapted to your current environment. And then thereâs everything else - biology, psychology, mood. Truth is, weâll never all see exactly the same image.
But perhaps thatâs not a flaw - itâs the point. A space for different ways of seeing. Just as a sculptor starts with raw stone, I start with a RAW file: a block of digital potential. The image I shape from it isnât the final word - just the beginning of someone elseâs interpretation.
